Ben Griimes  is a film director, writer, visual artist, composer, and MPSE Golden Reel-nominated sound boy.  He specifically asked me to tell you that.
He holds an MFA in Film & Television Production from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts and two BAs - one in Media Studies and one in Creative Writing - from the University of Kansas.
As a filmmaker and designer, Ben has over ten years of experience managing the full creative process - from script development and pre-production through filming, post-production, sound and picture editing, and promotional design. Ben wanted me to tell you that he's also skilled in delivering polished, emotionally resonant content across 16:9, 1:1, and 9:16 formats. Oh lord he's also proficient in Pro Tools, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Creative Suite, DaVinci, et al.  This fellow thrives in fast-paced collaborative storytelling environments, this I assure you.
A bit of history because why not put that on my errrrrrm his website:  After spending his early twenties as a recording artist for Capitol Records, Ben transitioned to working in television where he occupied various roles such as Script Coordinator, Storyboard Artist, Writers’ Assistant, and Production Assistant for shows like It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia (FX), Baskets (FX), A to Z (Warner Bros Television/NBC Universal), The Mark Maron Project (IFC), and a bunch of pilots that failed to get off the ground.  He has also worked in various sound design, directing, project management, production design, and PA roles on music videos, commercials, web series, and short films.
Ben also composed and contributed music for numerous films, television shows, and video games like Grey's Anatomy, Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl, Tiger Woods' PGA Golf, Chuck, America's Funniest Home Videos, John Tucker Must Die, et al.
As of this writing, Mr. Griimes has directed ten short films, three documentaries, various other music videos and promos, and is currently in pre-production on a feature film.  He has been the supervising sound editor, designer and rerecording mixer on one narrative feature, ten short films, one feature doc, and numerous other commercials and promotional pieces.
Ben appreciates your interest and is excited to stop writing in the third person.
